ABOUT THE SONG

This drum was carried in the War of 1812, the Spanish-American War and the Civil War. It has been recorded for the first time ever for the song, "BEAT THE DRUM SLOWLY", a song that came out of the drum to me, a song I did my best to write down as I heard it in my mind while laying next to it one night. It is powerful and historic and carries with it the amazing spirit of America. This drum has a message for us all and I am honored to be the conduit.

WOMEN OF AMERICA ADD YOUR VOICE TO THIS PEACE ANTHEM

This year we will be coming to your town in the first historical recording of all women in America singing on the chorus of one song: "Beat the Drum Slowly".

We seek to unite women in a world agreement of non-violence, mothers raising the first generation capable of turning the page on the worlds bloody history. An agreement if entered into today, would 20 years from now, change the world. A generation who 20 years from now, would reject violence as a means of conflict resolution.

The Agreement?

"3 billion women saying to their children, 'You do not kill. Ever'."

Statistics: 100 wars per decade over the last 4000 years on planet Earth. How many more soldiers are we going to send out to the ultimate sacrifice? Help us match the courage and commitment of our troops who have dedicated their lives to fight within the current paradigm. Show up. Raise your voice. Men bring drums and show your solidarity. We are filming a do****entary as we go, talking to this country about war and peace, who we are as Americans and what we believe.

Peace cannot exist in Hell. Hell exists on this planet where human suffering and autrocities go unchecked. Our minds as one can come together to find solutions, a global think tank addressing local needs. We can make this a place that is safe for all. Help us raise funds and consciousness in our first steps. We beat the drum slowly but we beat it with purpose and the purpose is Peace.

?"The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by obvious realities. We need men and women who can dream of things that never were..." -John F. Kennedy

"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent."- Gandhi

"More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginning of all wars -- yes, an end to this brutal, inhuman and thoroughly impractical method of settling the differences between governments." -- Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Lyrics:

She Came Riding Up Slowly, Beat the Drum Slowly by Laura Ballor

Will we beat the drum slowly
or will we enter this fight
let them say, 'she came
riding up slowly
and none of us here
could ask her to step aside'.

Brave young men
will defend
on every side
when called to die
again
and again and again
and again and again
Mothers
what are we doing?
Sisters
isn't it time
that we take up
the mantel of Peace?
if each of us stood up
infront of just one boy tonight
and said, 'no more war tonight'
'not in the name of your god tonight'
'it is a world of mothers tonight...
and god help the man
who hides behind faith
and lets one more child of mine die!'

raise your voice
mamon
raise your voice
madre
raise your voice
mimi
raise your voice
will we beat the drum slowly
or will we enter this fight
let them say, 'she came
riding up slowly...
and none of us here
could ask her to step aside'.

Mothers
what are you doing?
Sisters
this is the time
take up the mantel of Peace
stand up infront of just one boy tonight
Raise your voice
Mute'
Raise your voice
Haha
Raise your voice
Mone'
Raise your voice
Mama
Raise your voice
Mutre
Raise your voice
Matka
Raise your voice
Mere'
Raise your voice
